How much should an employee receive as Holiday Pay?


Generally, every employee is entitled to holiday pay equivalent to 100% to his/her regular daily wage except in retail and service establishments regularly employing les than 10 workers. 

However, its must be noted that a distinction must be made if the holiday is a regular holiday or special working holiday to which the following will apply:

Regular holiday

Employee shall receive 100% of his/her regular daily wage. If the employee rendered work on said day, employee shall receive 200% of his/her regular daily wage.

Special working holiday

The employee shall receive only 100% of his/her regular daily wage if he rendered work since it is considered an ordinary working day. 

This is without the additional payment for overtime work or work rendered on rest days of the employee.
